Creating with the heart in mind

A two-person best friend creative studio between the US and The Netherlands, named after the coaster's first climb — the slow, clicking ascent before everything lets go.

Launch party · Charge The Coil on iOS

Charge The Coil just hit the App Store.

It landed on the App Store on 26 August 2026 — and the first update, built from player feedback, followed the same day. Same one tap, same fair world ranking as itch.io and Reddit. But the iPhone edition is the one we'd hand you first. Here's why.

  1. 01

    One payment. The complete game.

$0.99, once. We chose a one-time price over yet another subscription: you buy the game, you own the game, and every future update is included. No ads, no in-app purchases, nothing to buy your way past.

  2. 02

Nothing to sign up for. Nothing tracked.

No account, no e-mail, no analytics. Your career is an anonymous coaster name, kept in the iPhone Keychain rather than in browser storage one cache clear can wipe.

  3. 03

    You can feel the discharge.

Core Haptics hums along while the coil winds, then a discharge lands as a firm tick with a soft aftershock — in sync with the layered electric sound. No browser on iPhone can vibrate at all, so this is the edition you play by feel.

  4. 04

Sound that behaves like a game, not a tab.

Ten recordings play through a native audio bridge with its own playback session: no browser autoplay rules, no embedded-player hiccups, no waiting for the second tap.

  5. 05

    Plays offline, ranks online.

Twenty verified run tickets ride along, so a tunnel or airplane mode doesn't cost you a career run. Without a ticket the game drops into safe practice mode instead of faking a score — and every verified run lands on the same shared world ranking as itch.io and Reddit.

  6. 06

Light, accessible — and on your Mac, apparently.

17 MB, iOS 14 and up, full Reduce Motion support. And because Apple lets iPhone apps travel, the same purchase also plays on iPad, Apple silicon Macs and Apple Vision. We found that out from the listing too.

Charge The Coil is the first game that really feels like a solid release — finished enough to put out properly, bring to iOS and keep supporting. It's the first real step into releasing games instead of only working on them, and it definitely won't be the last.

The studio

Creativity meets craft. We don't just make things — we obsess until they feel right.

A chord progression, an invisible app flow, a useful tool or a cultural idea: the discipline changes, but the standard does not. The details should make the experience feel inevitable.
