Who provides the game

CHARGE THE COIL is made and operated by Lifthill Studio / Thomas Geelens in The Netherlands (KVK 83559752). You can contact hello@lifthill.studio with questions about these terms.

Accepting these terms

By playing or using the game service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the game or its online career and ranking features. You must also follow the rules and terms of the platform through which you access the game, including Reddit, itch.io or Apple.

Use the game only if you are permitted to do so under the rules of that platform and the laws that apply to you. The game does not ask you to provide a date of birth or create a separate LiftHill account.

Game access and licence

Lifthill Studio gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to play CHARGE THE COIL for its intended entertainment purpose. The game, artwork, audio, code, branding and other materials remain owned by Lifthill Studio or its licensors.

You may not copy, sell, redistribute, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the game except where applicable law expressly allows it. You may share ordinary screenshots, recordings and commentary about your own play.

Fair play and rankings

The global ranking is for genuine play. Do not automate input, manipulate requests or tickets, interfere with replay verification, exploit a defect, impersonate another player, attempt unauthorized access or disrupt the game service.

Scores are accepted only after server replay verification. We may reject invalid runs and may reset, suspend or delete an anonymous career when reasonably necessary to address cheating, abuse, a security incident or corrupted data. Public coaster names are generated by the game from a fixed safe dictionary; players cannot submit public names or other leaderboard text.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the game and ranking available, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Online features may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, platform review, security work or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Offline or practice play may remain available without a verified ranking update.

We may update the game, scoring configuration, security controls or these terms. Material terms changes will receive a new effective date on this page. We will not retroactively remove statutory consumer rights.

Platforms, purchases and refunds

Reddit, itch.io and Apple are separate platform providers and are not operated by Lifthill Studio. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. The iOS edition is sold and distributed by Apple; billing and refund requests are handled by Apple under its applicable store rules. The iOS edition also uses Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.

Ending use and deleting a career

You may stop using the game at any time. Open Circuit and choose Start New Career to delete the current anonymous online career as described in the Privacy Policy. We may limit access to online features when these terms are materially violated or when necessary to protect players and the service.

Responsibility and consumer rights

The game is provided for entertainment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lifthill Studio is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unsupported modification or cheating, or service failures outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer protections available to you.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another country, you keep any mandatory consumer rights provided by the law of your residence. Please contact hello@lifthill.studio first so we can try to resolve a concern directly.
